The association of Landlords of Ona-Ara Community Development Area in Ado Odo Ota Local Government in Ogun State has appealed to Ogun State government to extend its developmental projects to the area, describing as frustrating, the lack of significant development in the Community in its over 15 years of existence.

The Community situated along Idi-Iroko road in Ota, bounded by the popular Tower Cooperative Society Estate and three other significant Communities has been deprived of government projects, in spite of all efforts to get government attention especially, in the area of roads and electricity.

Speaking shortly after the election of new executives of the Community at the weekend, the newly elected Chairman, Pastor Mathew Ojugbele in his acceptance speech vowed to collaborate with government. He assured the representative of Ado Odo Ota Local Government Council to adhere strictly to the ethics of the office.

Pastor Ojugbele noted with dismay that virtually, every basic amenity that had existed in the Community up till now were provided by the joint efforts of the Landlords, without an iota of government intervention.

Making a passionate appeal to the authorities of Ado-Odo Ota Local Government to urgently beam it developmental searchlight to the Ona-Ara Community, the Chairman listed among others, the need of transformer, good roads and drainages.

The Chairman however stressed and appealed to the government of Governor Ibikunle Amosun and the incumbent Chairman of Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area to extend their good works to Ona Ara CDA, especially, in the provision of a good Transformer.

According to him, “our Community urgently needs a transformer and good roads especially now that rain has started. From experience, it’s always a difficult task accessing the Community whenever it rains, simply because all the access roads are in bad shape. It is important to note that these access roads were joint efforts of the landlords.

“While we appreciate the Government’s transformational agenda, especially, the newly opened access roads in Ota axis, we still believe that Governor Amosu should extend this gesture to our community as well, we believe that Governor Amosu has a listening ear.

“We are making efforts to purchase a 500 KVA Transformer, even though, it is the responsibility of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company to provide us with Transformer, but for the past few years, we have not received any response from them. So, we have to take the bull by the horn and go for the purchase, we have started the contribution, our constraint now is the current economic situation of Nigeria. We however appeal to the government to come to our aid”.
