The Companion, an association of Muslim men in business and the professions is billed to hold this year’s edition of its annual business seminar on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the University of Lagos Conference Centre.

With “Sustainable Export Trade for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises: Opportunities and Challenges”  as its theme, the seminar will attract facilitators from The Nigerian Export Promotions Council (NEPC), The Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM), in addition to seasoned practitioners  and consultants, according to a press statement by Alhaji Mikail Mumuni, the National Publicity Secretary of the Association.

Mumuni added that “The essence of the seminar is to sensitize our members, including the general public to self-employment and business opportunities in our environment. It is also to provide platform to expose our members and the Muslim Ummah to government policy direction including facilities and incentives which government & its agencies provide to promote businesses in various sectors of the economy.”

He stressed that “For this year, especially in the light of dwindling oil prices and consequent scarcity of foreign earning, we felt that we could focus on opportunities in export business with a view to taking advantage of government policy on diversification of the economy, especially in non-oil export.”
