In its efforts to ensure proper rewards to pensioners of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) administration, who have served it well, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Babatope Ajakaiye, has said that the new leadership was poised to give good services to pensioners who were in its employ.
Ajakaiye made the disclosure in Abuja, while inaugurating a high-powered Ministerial Committee on Pension Matters.
He said that the decision to inaugurate a committee on pension matters emanated from the Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello.
According to press statement issued by the Press Secretary to Ajakaiye, Mr.Tony Odey, the National Pension Commission had recommended the establishment of the Federal Capital Territory Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate.
This is expected supposed to become an established institution of Group Life Insurance Policy for employees, which will guarantee the payment of three times the annual total emolument of an employee in the event of death while in active service.
The intent is also to have an increment of funding of accrued rights of pensioner, among others.
Ajakaiye said that the Committee was expected to meet with National Pension Commission and discuss extensively and come out with positive and progressive plans that will serve as future guide in the administration of pension issues in FCT.
