ANXIETY as two killed in Taraba violence
No fewer than two persons was reportedly killed and properties destroyed after fresh violence erupted in Taraba State, northeast Nigeria on Saturday.
The incident occurred on Saturday in Bornon Kuku village in Bali Local Government Area of the state.
The Special Adviser to the Taraba State Governor on Media, Mr Sylvanus Giwa, confirmed the killing to Channels Television on telephone.
He said that the incident was an off-shoot of a foiled robbery attack by herdsmen on the village, on Friday.
Governor Darius Ishaku’s aide noted that the armed men later re-grouped to attack the unsuspecting villagers.
He asked the Federal Government to take the issue of security seriously, in order to prevent the situation from getting out of hand.
