Ooni of Ife bags Peace Ambassador award

After taking the honour of fellow of Lagos-State Polytechnic, the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba, Dr. Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, will soon add to his list of awards on excellent leadership as he bagged “Peace Ambassador” in United States of America.

The award is organized by White House Faith Based initiatives at the White House in Washington, DC in USA as part of events schedule for the highly revered monarch’s visit to the United States in June.

An initiative designed to advance relationships between the citizens of Yoruba land and the USA.

The mission is to attract foreign investors for economic development of Yoruba regions and environments by presenting the rich cultural and economic potential of the region to his audience.

His Imperial Majesty, Oba, Dr. Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, Ooni of Ife’s and his entourage will consist of prominent Obas (kings) with an expected visit of the States Governors and other dignitaries.

The His Imperial Majesty’s speech is expected to focus on facts about nature, culture and exclusive information on business opportunities and the city of Ile – Ife in Osun State Nigeria with abundant natural resources, solid minerals, agriculture and a varieties of artistic expressions.

The Ooni is also expected to visit Baltimore, Maryland, African Village, Sheldon, South Carolina, Mobile Alabama, Atlanta, Georgia, Arkansas and Chicago, Illinois in the trip that will be between June 8th to 30th of June.

In the same vein, the Ooni expressed desire to as well touch on the Oyotunji city in USA due to her proximity with the historic Penn Center on St. Helena Island, South Carolina, the history, diaspora ties, educational spiritual and humanitarian offerings of these two cities are essential to not only the Yoruba culture but are fitting momentous locations to enrich the visit of the entourage.
