TENSION in Kaduna as gunmen kill traditional ruler, nephew
There was an uneasy calm on Sunday night when unknown gunmen killed the traditional ruler of the community, Bala Madaki, and his nephew, Emmanuel Tanko at Fadan Karshi community in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, northwest Nigeria.
The incident was confirmed to Correspondent on Monday by the spokesman for Kaduna State Police Command, Zubairu Abubakar.
An eyewitness also narrated that the gunmen invaded the deceased house at about 10:00PM on Sunday, went into their rooms and opened fire on them.
The latest attack has created tension in the community as residents remain indoors while shops and markets remain closed.
Policemen have, however, been deployed to the area to maintain law and order.
Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has condemned the attack.
In a statement he issued through his spokesman, Samuel Aruwan, while commiserating with the family of the victims, Governor El-Rufai urged the people of Sanga Local Government to remain calm and support the security agencies to investigate the attack and apprehend the perpetrators of the attack.
