CISCOPE donates seeds to farmers of IDPs in Adamawa
An official of Civil Society Coalition for Poverty eradication (CISCOPE), Mr Peter Michael Egwudah, has said that the non-governmental grganisation had donated 10kg seeds of different varieties of crops to over 2,000 Internal Displaced persons (IDPs) in Adamawa State.
According to him, the organisation, which is receiving her major funding from OXFAM, a leading international humanitarian agency that had been supporting the cause of IDPs, since gthat past four years had targeted farmers in Michika Local Government Area, who had gone back to their homes of origin after being ravaged by the activities of Boko Haram insurgents.
“After the recapturing of many communities by the Nigerian Army and many IDPs decided to go back to their homes, our organisation decided to go back with them to help them start living a new life. We have given them seeds and seedlings of different varieties for this year’s farming season,” Egwudah said.
He revealed that plans were on top gear to support and help the Adamawa State Government that is planning to bringing back over 80,000 Nigerians that have been displaced into northern parts of Cameroon Republic.
