INEC Boss appoints 3 aides
The Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmoud Yakubu has made his first appointments since his assumption of office.
An INEC bulletin on Tuesday in Abuja, through which the appointments were announced, explained that Prof. Yakubu appointed the three aides to assist him to effectively execute his duties.
Those appointed are; a Professor of History at University of Ilorin, Professor Bolade Eyinla, Professor Mohammed J. Kuna and Mr Rotimi Oyekanmi.
Professor Eyinla, who worked as national election expert at the UNDP-DGD, will serve as Chief Technical Adviser to the INEC Chairman.
Professor Mohammed J. Kuna, former Special Adviser to the erstwhile INEC Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega, was reappointed.
Professor Mohammed J. Kuna, until his appointment, was a Professor of Political Sociology at the Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto.
A senior Editorial staff of the Guardian Newspaper, Mr Rotimi Oyekanmi, is to serve as Chief Press Secretary to the new INEC Chairman.
