Nigerian’s Anichebe departs West Brom, club confirms
English Premier League side West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday confirmed the departure of Nigerian striker, Victor Anichebe from the club.
Anichebe arrived at The Hawthorns in 2013 from boyhood club Everton and has played 63 times for the club, scoring nine goals.
He played a peripheral role in West Brom’s campaign this season and the club have now confirmed his departure.
The 28-year-old was released alongside Benin international Stephane Sessegnon with manager Tony Pulis thanking the duo for their contributions to the club.
“The two lads worked really hard for me and were as good as gold,” Pulis told the club’s official website wba.co.uk.
“Everybody at the club wishes them all the best in their future careers.”
Anichebe has played 11 times for Nigeria, scoring one goal.
