Saraki meets NLC to end fuel hike protest

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has just wrapped up a meeting with the National Leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), led by Comrade Ayuba Philibus Wabba, to listen to the concerns of Nigerian workers and to discuss ways of resolving the current strike action.

Senator Saraki disclosed this on his Twitter handle that he alongside other principal officers of the upper chamber on Thursday met with officials of the NLC to listen to their yearning regarding the recent fuel hike.

In the meeting both factions of NLC. Comrade Wabba, Issa Aremu, Honourable Ekwe, Dr. Ozo-Eson, Comrade Adeyemi, Dr Fashina and others NEWSVERGE learnt were present.

Bamikole Omisore, Mr. Saraki’s spokesperson confirmed that Francis Alimikena, Suleiman Nasif, Kabir Gaya, Joshua Lidani and Mao Ohuabunwa, were Senators present at the meeting.

NEWSVERGE reports that the NLC led by Comrade Ayuba Wabba, commenced a nationwide strike on Wednesday, after his faction failed to have a solid resolution with the government on their demands.
