PenCom DG, Anohu-Amazu to speak at BusinessToday Online 2015 awards

…To honour LASPEC DG, eight others

The Director General of National Pension Commission (PenCom), Mrs Chinelo Anohu-Amazu, will be among top Pension and Insurance top dignitaries expected to speak at the third edition of BusinessToday Online Insurance and Pension Industry Awards 2015.

Other speakers include the Director General of Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), Mr Sunday Thomas and Compliance Office of StanbicIBTC Pension Managers and a Senior member of Pension Fund Operators Association of Nigeria (PenOp), Ms. Idu Okwuosa.

According to statement released by the Managing Director/CEO, Nkechi Naeche, the theme of the year’s award is “The Role of Stakeholders in Alleviating Old Age Poverty” is billed to hold at Protea Hotel, Isaac John GRA, Ikeja, Lagos State on Tuesday 31st May, 2016, by 10:00am.

She added that the event would enable operators and individuals in the Insurance and Pension industry deliberate on the role of Pension and insurance in alleviating of old age poverty in the country.

Other stakeholders expected at the award programme are National Union of Pensioners (NUP), National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and the Centre for Pension Rights (CPR).

Also excellence awards will be presented to Mrs. Chinelo Anohu-Amazu, in recognition for her contributions to the establishment and growth of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) in Nigeria.

The award which is in nine categories will be chaired by the doyen in the pension and insurance industry, Director General of Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC), Mr. Mrs Folasade Onanuga.

The yearly award was designed to celebrate outstanding performances by organisation, individuals and who have contributed immensely to the growth of the Nigerian insurance and pension industry in past 12 months.

Also Insurance; pension companies and individuals would be celebrated and presented awards in different categories.
