Bindow declares 3-day mourning over death of Chief of Staff

Tom Garba, Yola

The Adamawa State Government is to boost its treasury base with a N1.5 billion from internally generated revenue (IGR) targeted in the next six months.

Governor Jibrilla Bindow made this known at the signing ceremony of the 2016 budget in Yola, and said that the improvement in IGR would address the issue of non-payment of salaries to workers. He did not mention the current IGR amount, but said that his administration had a far-from- satisfactory IGR caused by the insurgency.

He, however, said that the state had depended solely on the federation account as its source of revenue.

He also said that the issue of non-payment of salaries to local governments in the state would soon be a thing of the past.
