Aptech continues to empower minds with enriching experience in Nigeria

Aptech, the global education and training company has organised the eighth edition of the mega career fair, Career Quest, in Nigeria.

The fair, which is held in collaboration with the Middlesex University, UK with over 2,000 students from Nigeria, in attendance.

According to a recent World Bank report, the Nigerian economy needs to create between 40 and 50 million jobs between 2010 and 2030. These numbers translate into over 2 million additional jobs per year, which would be mostly taken up by new entrants to the labour market. This highlights the importance on strengthening the employability of graduates and the productivity of enterprises through better links between schooling and job need. Technical and vocational education institutes will also play a vital role in this. Given the early entry into work, especially for young people from poor families, and the importance of self-employment, there is also a specific need to consider skills upgrading for those who already work in a household enterprise.
