Investors gain N295bn as bulls fight back

NSE: Capitalisation dips further by N49bn

The bulls fight back strongly on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday after a two-day dominance of the bears as investors recorded a massive price gains of N295 billion as the Market Capitalisation rose to N9.579 trillion from the closing value of N9.284 trillion on Tuesday.

The All-Share Index which closed at 27,034.05 on Tuesday closed on Wednesday at 27,891.96. In the day trading, a total of 588.43 million shares were traded in 5,088.00 deals with the value attached of N3.477 billion

The volume traded on the day had UBA as the highest traded stock as it accounted for 197. 2 million shares valued at N865.520; SKYEBANK 74.553million valued at N87.973 million; FCMB traded 54.495 million shares at the market value of N89.910 million; ACCESS traded 47.941 million which the value attached N282.388 million while FBNH38.736 valued at N154.736 million.

GLAXOSMITH recorded the highest price depreciation of the day dropping by N0.8 and from its opening value of N16.44 it closed at N15.64; ETI which came to the market with the value of N17.2, closed at N16.4, having shed N0.8 per share. INTBREW, from the value N19.9, it closed at 19.48, having marked down by N0.42; FLOURMILL, from its opening value of N21.85, closed at N21.5 as it lost N0.35 per share while UPL closed at N4.19 from the value of N4.41 as it was market down by N0.22.

DANGCEM led price gainers for the day N8.2 and from the opening value of N164.00, it closed N172.20, MOBIL followed N7.99 per share appreciation to close at N169.5 from the opening value N161.51. NB which opened the day at N.00 per share 128, left the market at N133.75 having added N5.75 while GUINNESS N4.9 to its opening value of N98.00 to close at N102.9 even as GUARANTY closed at N19.95 having added N1.44 to its opening value of N18.51.
