Reports in England have emanated that young Nigerian defender, Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi, is wanted by English Premier League side, Watford.

The 19-year-old is a £6 million target for the Hornets who will look to bolster coach Walter Mazarri’s side ahead of the commencement of the season.

Ndidi had a breakout season for the former Belgian champions in 2015/16. He came to fore during the championship playoffs where he scored two cracking goals.

He is comfortable either as a defensive midfielder or in central defence where he has played for the Nigeria Under-20 and Under-17 sides.

His versatility has seen him grown in leaps and bounds after signing for Genk for a paltry €150,000 two seasons ago.

Ndidi’s progress has also seen him make his Super Eagles début this year and is expected to be a mainstay in the team for years to come.

Watford already have Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo in their ranks and just last week signed Isaac Success from La Liga side Granada.
