Transmission Company to disrupt electricity supply in Lagos for repair on Monday

Power generation: Government urged to hands off transmission

The Management of Transmission Company of Nigeria, Lagos Region on Sunday, urged electricity customers in some part of the state to bear with the company that there will be power outage on Monday, July 18th,2016 from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

The would affected areas are Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Alagbon, Apapa, Ijora, Surulere, Itire, Oshodi, Mushin, Nigerian Airforce Base, Shogunle and all their environs.

Mrs Celestina Osin, PRO, Transmission Company of Nigeria, Lagos Region in a statement to NEWSVERGE said that there is an urgent need by the company to disrupt electricity supply to them from the Akangba 132KV Transmission Substation to enable the MBH Contractor carry out important repair work on the Itire 132KV Transmission Line 1 and the OJO 132KV Transmission Line 2 from which the areas are fed electricity for better service to them.

During the period the outage will last, Mrs Osin said that the 4X90 MVA power transformers and another 150MVA power transformer will be out of service at the AKANGBA 132KV Substation in order to provide a safe working space for the workers.

She however promised that the company will restore supply to all the affected areas as soon as the work is concluded.
