#SaveMayowa: More celebrities support Toyin Aimakhu
Following the recent backlash rendered on light-skinned actress, Toyin Aimakhu, over the #SaveMayowa Campaign, more celebrities have thrown their weight behind her.
NEWSVERGE reports that controversy erupted last week over the campaign with many Nigerians taking to social media to accuse the Toyin Aimakhu of playing a major role in the uncertainty about the true intention of the funds raised.
However, some celebrities have come to her defence with several videos that have surfaced on the internet, noting that Mayowa Ahmed’s family have not been fair to the actress who made most of them aware of the campaign.
Nollywood stars that include Iyabo Ojo, Ronke-Oshodi Oke, Mercy Aigbe-Gentry, Seyi Law, Opeyemi Ayoola, and Femi Branch have all weighed in their support to their colleague whose identity has been disinterested in the public domain.
For Iyabo Ojo, she warned Nigerians to stop blaming Toyin whom she described as a lady with a heart of Gold and will do all on her part to put smile on others faces, noting however that it’s perhaps unfortunate that the campaign turned out to like it is.

Actor Femi Branch noted that with incidents like this is the more reason why celebrities are always scared to be involved in things like this. He said: “I am amazed, people were praising Toyin when she started the advocacy but all of a sudden, she is a devil all the name that she is trying to protect her name”.
