Patoranking opens up on inspiration behind new album ‘God over everything’
Patrick Nnaemeka, also known as Patoranking on Saturday hinted his fans on the reason behind the choice of “God over everything” for his new album.
The award winning reggae-dancehall singer, songwriter and performing artiste at a media parley organised by Spice Digital Nigeria in Lagos on Saturday, said that the inspiration for the title of the album was drawn from his absolute believe the power of god.
He shared, “I want people to know that amidst having fun, love and the rest, God still comes first, hence the choice of the name, God Over Everything. The album is about love, God, my life, where I come from and where I am headed.”
The singer who hail from a small slum in Ilaje, Lagos, south-western of Nigeria also shed light on the inspiration behind his music.
He revealed that he leans on experiences he has garnered over the years. He encapsulates the entirety of his being into his music. He further added that he makes music that everybody can relate to and this also influences his choice of collaborations.

When asked the reason for the delay in the release of the album and the challenges encountered, he stated that he wanted to take his time to acquaint himself with his audience and faced challenges from putting sounds together to points of losing creativity to write or record.
Ultimately, the reggae-dancehall singer admitted it was tough releasing the new album “but an indeed fulfilling journey”, he added.
