Strengthen anti-graft agencies, lawmaker pleads with Buhari
Member of House of Representatives Kayode Oladele, representing Iyewa North Federal Constituency in Ogun, on Saturday pleaded with the Federal Government to strengthen anti-graft agencies in the country.
Oladele during a telephone conversation told our reporter that the there were fundamental issues to be tackled by various anti-graft agencies.
According to him, those who are charged with the task of checkmating looters and sanitise the system must be motivated and trained periodically for better performance.
Oladele, the Chairman of House Committee on Anti-graft, advocated adequate funding for the agencies to perform well.
“The major driving force of anti-graft agencies is proper funding, it will be counter-productive for such organisations to be incapacitated by insufficient fund,’’ he said.
He said that inadequate funding of anti-graft agencies would hamper anti-corruption war.
