APC has woefully fail Nigerians – Taraba PDP Chair

Taraba Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Hon. Victor Bala Kona on Saturday said the APC led federal government under President Mohammadu Buhari has woefully failed Nigerians, throwing the country into untold hardship for months.

Kona who was speaking in an interview with NEWSVERGE from the fallout of his recent inauguration for a second term in office lamented that for over 14 months the Buhari administration has subjected Nigerians to economic hardship, making it difficult for people to cope.

“The difference is clear between yesterday and today. Yesterday a bag of rice was N6000, today it’s N16000. Inflation has gone up for an all-time high of 16.5, the highest in 11 years.

“There is no liquidity in the economy. For over a year since assumption of office, the APC government has no economic policy. All over the country, Nigerians are tired of APC.

“Look at the result of the rerun election in Kogi and Imo, the people don’t even want hear the name of APC, Nigerians now know that PDP mean well for this country and we are going to win Edo in the forthcoming election. APC is visionless and Nigerians are tired of their fake promises,” he said.

On the power tussle at the national level of the party, Kona said it was only a minor disagreement within the PDP family, affecting only the PDP national headquarters, as the state chapters of the party were not involved in the disagreement, even as he said the issues would be resolved soon at the forthcoming Portharcout convention.

The chairman lauded governor Ishaku for the bold steps he has taken to rescue the state from its numerous problems despite endless litigations and lean resources accruing to the state.

“For 13 months, our amiable governor had been subjected to a legal battle from all fronts. You will recall that the APC governorship candidate, Sen. Aisha Alhassan fought him up to the Supreme Court.

“Today, the SDP governorship candidate, Mr. David Kente, who lost a pre-election case at the Federal high court in Jalingo and Appeal court in Yola is now at the Supreme Court, challenging Ishaku’s emergence at primary.

“Despite these litigations, the governor has remained resolute in the execution of developmental projects, especially in the area of road construction, agriculture, water and electricity supply.”

He called on those who contested against the governor to come forth with their blue-print on how to move the state forward and support the governor for the over-all development of the state.
