50 Ogun indigenes undergo ICT training

No fewer than fifty unemployed graduates of Ogun State indigenes have been trained on the use of digit bytes to tackle unemployment among the youths and boost their productivity on small scale business.

The training sponsored by Egba Economic Summit (EEC), was aimed at promoting youth empowerment, sustainable economic, social, political development and well-being of indigene of state through uses of Information and Communication Technology

Speaking on the seminar, the President Egba Economic Summit, Chief Tunji Sumonu said the training based on Digital 101 designed to give participants in-depth knowledge of digital marketing, showing them the A – Z in digital marketing especially in small scale enterprise, starting with a brief overview of the history of the internet and how it has become such a pivotal part of our daily lives.

Chief Sumonu, acknowledged the support of German Agency for International Cooperation, Deutsche Gesellschaft Fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Information Technology Company, Livity Africa for the training offered participant toward economic empowerment and poverty reduction in the face of the current economic situation in the country.

Contributing, the Adviser State Enabling Environment Component (GIZ) Mr. Stephen Dada said the seminar was designed to give participant a shot of digital marketing skills in an effort to grow their business and increase employability or build their own personal brand.

“The seminar is a capacity building aimed at improving the knowledge on ICT, especially on boosting the performance of small/medium scale businesses and also to help them become employers of labour, thereby building their own personal brands’’. He explained.

The programme trainer from Livity Africa, Mr Tomiwa Adegbola taught the participants on the use of digital marketing, e-mail/search marketing, social media marketing, management analytics, having a robust customer relation amongst others.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Miss Temitayo Shobiye said the seminar was an eye opener on how to own their brands and would go a long way at reducing poverty and social crimes, especially among unemployed youths.

The seminar held simultaneously in Abeokuta, Ijebu-Ode and Sagamu had unemployed graduates of Egba extraction as participants.
