Amosun gives monetary succour to Ogun pilgrims in Mecca

The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has ordered the payment of 100 Saudi Riyal cash to each Muslim pilgrims from the State, performing this year’s hajj in Saudi Arabia to enhance their welfare.

The Chairman of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Dr. Isiaq Yusuf stated this while monitoring the distribution of the monetary support to the pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.

He added that it has become part and parcel of the Governor to always give succour to the pilgrims on yearly basis, considering the fact that pilgrims might have expended their money since arrival in Saudi Arabia.

Commenting on the welfare of pilgrims since their arrival in Saudi Arabia, the Board’s Chairman said no lapses or complain had been recorded so far as the board was able to consolidate its effort in this year’s planning.

He noted that accommodation facilities has been uplifted to the required standard of the country to accommodate the pilgrims all over the world, noting that only Ogun was able to accommodate its pilgrims at Grand Ajyad Hotel a trekable distance to the Holy Mosque (Haram) along Ajyad main road, Makkah.

Dr. Yusuf commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for their strategic planning, saying that all Nigeria pilgrims are in befitting accommodations within the Holy Mosque, Medina.

He said that it had actually posted a great relief and joy to the pilgrims which enable them to benefit immensely from reward accrued to praying in the holy mosque (Haram).

According to him “this fit cannot be achieved without the support of the President Mohammadu Buhari’s change agenda that the pilgrims had actually attested to the comfort enjoying during this year’s hajj”.

Reacting to the monetary support and good welfare packages, Alhaji Gbadamosi Nurudeen and Olatoye Suliyhat Bolanle, however expressed their optimism and appreciated the Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun for the kind gesture, saying that it’s timely to meet their needs.

They also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for given much priority to the welfares of the pilgrims from Nigeria, especially accommodation, health and feeding in the days and nights since their arrival in Saudi Arabia for the Hajj exercise.
