APC chieftain hails Fayose over development of Ikere Ekiti

A governorship aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Mr Kola Alabi has acknowledged the impact of Governor Ayodele Fayose in upgrading Ikere Ekiti into a city status through various infrastructural projects.

Mr Alabi, an indigene of Ikere Ekiti commended the Governor during the 2016 Ikere Day celebration and a year Coronation of Ogoga of Ikere, Oba Adejimi Adu; saying “the town has indeed reflected what it is usually called.”

Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Idowu Adelusi quoted the APC aspirant as saying that the spate of development in Ikere Ekiti in recent years worth celebrating, citing the dualization of the township roads done by the governmnet of Governor Fayose as “a project visible for all to see.”

He lauded the Deputy Governor, Dr Kolapo Olusola and the Ogoga, Oba Adejimi Adu for the roles they played towards making their native home a pride for other communities in the state and enjoined all irrespective of party affiliations to take a cue.

The Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Dr Kolapo Olusola who led other top government functionaries and PDP supporters to the event said it was a platform for natives to meet with old friends, showcase the culture of the land and as well contribute towards the development of the town.

Dr Olusola, who reiterated Governor Fayose’s determination to develop all sectors in the town, called on Indigenes to contribute more to its development.

The Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, Oba Adejimi Adu and his wife, Eyesorun Funmi Adu congratulated indigenes of the town on this year celebration and called on them to always remember that “home is the best.”

The National President of Ikere Ekiti Development Union who is also the Asiwaju of Ikere Kingdom, Chief Wole Olanipekun, (SAN) and some other indigenes including, a former Deputy Governor, Mr Bisi Omoyeni said the time was ripe for all Ikere Ekiti sons and daughters to unite towards the town’s growth.

Some royal fathers who included the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade and Secretary to the State Government, Dr Modupe Alade and other guests wished the Oba and people of Ikere Ekiti well.
