JUST IN: EFCC offers Reuben Abati bail on condition

Sources in the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) say Dr. Reuben Abati, former presidential spokesman, has been offered administrative bail.

Abati, a newspaper columnist and spokesman to former President Jonathan was arrested on Monday for what has been speculated to be in connection with the ongoing probe of the mismanagement of fund meant for arms by the detained former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (Rtd).

Reports according to Channels Television Thursday evening said that Abati, was offered bail on the conditions that he submit his travelling passport and provide a surety who must be a top civil servant.

But it is not clear whether the detained journalist would be able to meet the bail conditions immediately.
