Fela Durotoye tasks Nigerians on positive values, re-orientation for sustainable development
Renowned motivational speaker, Fela Durotoye has called on Nigerians to move away from being a country divided along socio-cultural lines to becoming a nation with values to be able to achieve sustainable developments.
He expressed believe that exemplary core values must be passed from generation to generation.
The author cum leadership trainer said this while speaking on ‘Leadership Education and Value Re-orientation for National Greatness’ at the 20th Annual Conference of The Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers in Lagos on Thursday.
According to him, values influence decisions which determine actions. He noted that actions form habits which usually culminate into lifestyle, and lifestyle, to him becomes culture.
He went further to state that results from culture leads to reputation and brand which determines core values. To him, “the values of a nation determines its economic value, its social values and cultural values.”
For him, any country that must stay as a great nation must find purpose, mission and vision. He believes that a nation that would be great must create an environment conducive to live, work, play and visit. This he said will attract both local and foreign investors.
An alumnus of the Kennedy School of Government in the prestigious Harvard University in Boston Massachusetts, Fela holds 2 Masters Degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He is widely acclaimed to be the most sought after transformational speaker in Africa.
