Referendum, not quit notice will create Biafra – PDP BoT

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB-BIM) has warned that barring any last-minute changes, the Biafra state agitation group, will commence the building of 25 area administrative secretariats across Igbo-eze North Local Government Area of Enugu state.

The Enugu north zonal leader of the group, Chief James Omeke, stated this in Enugu while receiving donations of plots of land on behalf of MASSOB from three of his members for the commencement of the building of administrative secretariats.

Omeke, while expressing gratitude to the donors said the sacrifices of the pro-Biafrans would not be in vain, he called on other members who were still having doubts about Biafra to begin to see the new dawn in their struggle to freedom.

“I am happy with this renewed interest been shown by our members in Igbo-eze North region and I wish to commend their efforts especially in the donation of plots of land. I promise them that their efforts and sacrifices will not go unnoticed whenever our struggle for freedom is actualized.

He said Igbo-eze North region alone has 25 area administrators and called on other regions to learn from Igbo-eze North region.

“I have received reports that there are other members who are itching to make land donations to ensure that the remaining 22 area administrators in Igbo-eze North have their secretariats. I also want to challenge other regions in the zone to take a cue from Igbo-eze North region”, he said.

Omeke said the three buildings upon completion would be named as Ezinne Monica Uwazurike Conference Centre, Gabriel Ogwu Freedom Square and Joseph Okeke Conference Centre respectively.

The three members Anselem Eke, Ruben Onoja and Sylvester Uramah while announcing their donations said their decisions to give their lands to MASSOB-BIM are “for quick realization of republic of Biafra”.

“The donation of plots of land to MASSOB-BIM is a freewill borne out of our burning desire for quick realization of republic of Biafra because we discovered that to hasten the process we need offices where our leaders need offices where they can stay and coordinate our activities.

“These plots of land we have donated today will hasten the process towards our freedom.  There was no intimidation or threats from anyone, some of us even got the blessings of our family members who gave their full support. This is a freewill donation and we are happy to contribute our own quota towards getting the republic of Biafra”, they said.

Anselem Eke, 43, while handing over three plots of land to the zonal leader said “as a member of MASSOB- BIM, I give these three plots of land towards the actualization of the sovereign state of Biafra”, he said.

Ruben Onoja on his part said, “It is my desire that Biafra become independent and this why I am giving these four plots of my land here at Iggogoro at Enugu-Ezike in Igboeze-North LGA and also use the occasion to pray for our leader Chief Ralph Uwazuruike and other members of MASSOB-BIM especially in our zone for more grace as they actualize our dream of becoming independent”, he said.

Also, Sylvester Uramah, 74, gave a plot of land and said it was the collective decision of the members of his family that he was one of the Biafra soldiers who fought during the war.

He said, “I and my family members give this piece of land at Umuogbo-Ulo to Biafra”, he said.

The chairman of land and survey of the group, Mr. Patrick Agbo said he is optimistic that other members who have indicated interest to donate their lands for the group will redeem their pledges.

“We are happy that our dream to get our independent is fast becoming a reality”, he said.

It was gathered that like Ezinne Monica Uwazurike, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike’s mother, both Ogwu and Okeke were killed by Nigerian military while agitating for the actualization of the Republic of Biafra.
