Toyin Aimakhu’s ex-lover, Seun Egbegbe sends to Kirikiri prison for stealing iPhones

Toyin Aimakhu’s ex-lover and Lagos-based Nollywood filmmaker, Seun Egbegbe, has been remanded in Kirikiri prison pending the fulfilment of the conditions attached to his bail.

He was arraigned on Thursday before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing nine pieces of iPhones at the Computer village, Ikeja.

The presiding Magistrate Aje Afunwa granted him bail in the sum of N1 million and two sureties in like sum.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge of stealing preferred against him.

A mild drama, however, played out outside the court as Egbegbe’s supporters threatened to beat up any journalist who tries to take photograph of the accused.

It took the intervention of the police and court orderlies who sent the rowdy mob out of the court premises.

While journalists waited to take Egbegbe’s picture, the prison warders assisted by his family members sneaked him out of the court premises through the back door into a waiting prison vehicle.

Trouble started for Egbegbe when he went to the Computer Village, Ikeja and requested for the phones.

Investigations revealed that when the sales girl was trying to calculate the cost of the items he requested for, the former boyfriend to Nollywood actress and social media celebrity, Toyin Aimakhu, allegedly ran out of the shop with the iphones and tried to board a waiting vehicle.

The salesgirl, it was learnt, raised an alarm which attracted other traders in the market.

Egbegbe was caught and beaten to a pulp before the police intervened and rescued him.
