LBS becomes 1st AACSB accredited business school in West Africa

The Lagos Business School (LBS), has been accredited by the world’s largest business education network, Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), thus, becoming the first business school to be awarded such accreditation in West Africa and Nigeria.

The accreditation, which takes effect from December 1, 2016, makes LBS the fifth business schools to be accredited on the continent.

According to the management of the school, in a release made available to journalists, “the accreditation process is designed to validate business schools that are committed to global standards of excellence in strategic management and innovation,  student experience, and quality of both teaching and non-teaching.”

It noted that the school has once again distinguished itself as a management education provider of high repute in Africa.

“The rigorous accreditation process of AACSB International and the LBS’ ability to scale all the hurdles by sheer determination and strong leadership, have more than ever confirmed LBS’ status as one of distinguished business schools in Africa, ” it stated.

The AACSB International accreditation accords students of accredited schools the opportunity to participate in international student exchange programmes with other accredited schools.

The AACSB accreditation affirms Lagos Business School’s undeniable commitment, over the last 25 years, to world-class standards in teaching, learning, research, academic and professional management.

Other schools in the world that have been accredited by AACSB include: Havard University – USA,  IMD – Switzerland, Imperial College London, IESE Business School – Spain, University of Cape Town, South Africa,  Yale University, USA among others.
