Police nabs armed robbery suspect in Enugu

The Police Command in Enugu has nabbed an alleged armed robber and burglar identified as Ugochukwu Onugoagu of Road-6 Ivory Estate Trans Ekulu in Enugu.

The command’s spokesman, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, said this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Sunday.

It said that the suspect was nabbed after a distress call to police operatives in Trans Ekulu Police Division on Dec. 9 at about 3 a.m.

The statement added that the suspect specialty ranges from armed robbery, house breaking, stealing, burglary amongst others.

“He has allegedly robbed and burgled a lot of houses until luck ran against him when he went to a house at Nike Avenue Trans Ekulu where he had allegedly on Dec. 9 at about 3a.m. gone to burgle with instruments and an object constructed in form of a gun.

“However, the occupants alerted police operatives of the Trans Ekulu Division, who acted on the distress call, trailed and nabbed him as he was about to escape,’’ it stated.

It disclosed that the police operatives successfully recovered all the stolen objects including a Camry car in his possession.

The statement pointed out that the suspect had been helping the police in its investigation in relation to his nefarious activities.
