Sunny, hazy atmosphere, cloudy skies to prevail on Sunday – NiMet
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) on Saturday, predicted sunny and hazy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Sunday.
NiMet made the prediction in the Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Saturday.
It added that the region would have day and night temperature of 30 to 37 degrees Celsius and 12 to 20 degrees Celsius respectively, except over Jos with 29 and 12 degrees Celsius.
The agency predicted cloudy to partly cloudy conditions over the Southern inland cities with early morning mist/fog patches over coastal cities and localised thunderstorms over Ikeja, Port Harcourt, Yenagoa and Eket during the day.
It also predicted that other places within the region would be cloudy in the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 32 to 37 degrees Celsius and 20 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.
The NiMet disclosed that northern states will experience dust haze conditions with Sokoto, Yelwa and Gusau axis visibilities range between two to five Kilometres.
“The region will also have day and night temperatures of 33 to 37 degrees Celsius and 12 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively during the forecast period.
“Dust haze is still expected over the north, while some places over the south have prospects of localised thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours within the next 24 hours.”
