SEC holds public seminar on 2017 Budget
The Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) has confirmed plans to host a public seminar on the 2017 Budget of Growth and National Recovery that is currently before the National Assembly.
The regulatory body made this plan known in a statement on its website. SEC said other matters such as ways in which the capital market could contribute more meaningfully to the growth and recovery process the budget is intended to promote will also be discussed.

The event which is the first of its kind being organised by the SEC is slated for Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the Commission’s Zonal Office in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Panel of Discussants at the seminar include: Dr. Ore Sofekun, Managing Director of Investment One Vencap, Mr. John Chukwu, Initiator/Founder of Cowry Asset Management Limited, Dr. Biodum Adedipe, Chief Consultant, B. Adedipe, Associates Limited, and Mr. Bayo Rotimi, CEO, Quest Advisory Services Limited.
It is hoped that the public seminar will elicit the necessary discussions and review of the budget as the National Assembly is yet to open debate on the budget as presented by President Muhammadu Buhari.
