NYSC tasks corps members on skill acquisition
The Director-General of NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Sule Kazaure, has advised Corps members not to toy with the various skill acquisition programmes designed for them by the Corps.
Kazaure gave the advice on Friday during his visit to the corps members, Batch B, Stream 2 at the NYSC Orientation camp at Ikare-Akoko, Ondo State.
Kazaure, who was represented by Mrs Adetoun Makinde, the Head of Human Resources Management of NYSC said that skills acquired via the programmes could turn out to be good sources of income if properly imbibed.
According to him, the corps members should grasp the skill acquisition opportunities and make use of the optimal benefits of the programmes instead of looking for non-available white-collar jobs.
He expressed delight at the conduct of the corps members in the State and urged them to be security conscious considering the rate of kidnapping in the country.
He, however, challenged the state government’s nonperforming efforts in upgrading the facilities in the camp.
Mr Sunday Aroni, the NYSC State Coordinator said that by his assessment, the corps members would turn out to be good entrepreneurs and job creators after their service year.
