An unidentified teenage girl was on Tuesday killed in a road accident at about 6.30 a.m. along Abule-Egba -Ekoro Road in Lagos.

Insp. Peter Ajewole, a Traffic Warden attached to Oke-Odo Police Station who was at the scene of the accident said that an articulated vehicle with registration number KSF821XM rammed into a tricycle with registration number APP926QD.

“I was controlling traffic here around 6.30 a.m., I saw the truck coming from Abule –Egba on top speed and the driver was unable to control it.

“This may be due to break failure and it rammed into the tricycle and killed the girl.

“We have called relevant authorities and the family of the victim to inform them about the accident,’’ he said.

Ajewole told our reporter  that the case had been reported to the Divisional Traffic Officer and the truck driver had been arrested.

However, there were no Lagos State Maintenance Agency (LASEMA) officials around the scene of the incident at the time of filling this report.

Meanwhile, traffic around the axis had been built up due to the ugly incident.
