Ikoyi Club 1938 gets new executive
Nigeria’s leading and influential social club, Ikoyi Club 1938, says it set to elect new executive officials for the club as the outgoing administrative rounds up their two years tenure.
The long week event which started on Monday, February 6, 2017, according to the organizers promised to be an exciting moment for both club members and guests that will attend the various activities.
Lagos renowned lawyer, Mr Femi Falana, SAN, was also billed to speak at the lecture organized as part of the weeks’ activities.
Series of sport competitions have also been organised among the eight sections of the club and these include golf, swimming, table tennis, badminton among other games by members.
According to the outgoing chairman of the Club, Major-General Mufu Balogun (rtd), explained that the prizes will be given to the winners of the different categories of the games at the grand finale of the one-week event.
While speaking on the achievements of his administration, Balogun said himself and members of his administration have been able to deliver the vision of the club.
Balogun enumerated part of his administrations’ numerous achievements and these include the launching of a central WiFi that will serve the entire 8-wings of the club.
Balogun also said Ikoyi Club app will also be commissioned as the club partners IlLs and Zenith bank to further encourage cashless policy among our members.
“Our administration has also done some CRS activities which include visiting and donating money to orphanage homes in the country. We have been able to renovate and refurbished some of the things we met on ground and the transformation of the old car park into what we have now is part of what we have done”, he said.
The outgoing chairman believed that the coming administration will also key into the vision of club and make it better during their tenure.
Ikoyi Club 1938 is one of the foremost club in Nigeria known promoting positive interaction among it’s members through its unique sporting and recreational facilities.
