NYSC plans weekly medical outreach in Sokoto, says Coordinator
The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) says it is planning to embark on a weekly medical outreach across Sokoto State.
The State Coordinator of the scheme, Alhaji Musa Abubakar, made the disclosure on Saturday in Sokoto in an interview with our reporter.
He stated that the scheme would be sending medical teams across the state on weekly basis to provide free medical services.
According to Abubakar, the scheme is blessed with a crop of medical personnel working in various health facilities across the 23 Local Governments of the state.
”They include Medical Doctors, Nurses, Medical and Laboratory Scientists, Pharmacists, among others.
”Even now we have twenty five medical doctors at the orientation camp in Wamakko and other health professionals,” he said
Abubakar further said that the scheme would deploy its ambulance for the planned outreach.
The coordinator added that focus would be on weekly markets and rural communities so as to assist in addressing the health challenges of the people in the state.
He explained that the outreach would also be making referrals to other hospitals where necessary.
The gesture, he said, was aimed at complementing the efforts of the three tiers of government to provide efficient healthcare services to the people,” Abubakar added.
