Lagos prosecutes 210 miscreants arrested at Oshodi

Ambode lauds religious bodies for promoting peaceful coexistence

The Lagos state government has prosecuted 210 suspected miscreants and hoodlums arrested by the operatives of the Lagos State Task Force at Oshodi.

The Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, SP Olayinka Egbeyemi, who disclosed this in a press statement issued on Sunday, February 12, 2017, stated that the 210 miscreants and hoodlums were raided by the Agency at mid-night around Oshodi.

Egbeyemi said that the mid-night raid was carried out by the Agency on the directive of state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode through the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Mr. Fatai Owoseni.

He said, “these miscreants and hoodlums were raided along the rail-way lines, markets and under the bridge at Oshodi between Thursday 12 pm to 5pm on Friday 10th February 2017.

” An ex-convict who had just been released from ‘Potoki prison’ at Badagry was among those arrested.”

While the Chairman commended Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for his efforts at re-developing Oshodi and other parts of the State to a Mega-City status, he enjoined members of the public to always furnish security outfits with information on any criminal activities around their area.

He confirmed that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Mr. Fatai Owoseni immediately after the raid directed further that these 210 arrested miscreants and hoodlums be charged to court.

Femi Adisa who was among those raided confirmed that he was an ex-convict.

He said that he had just been released from ‘Potoki Prison’ at Badagry on Monday, 6th of February, 2017 after serving a 6-month imprisonment for a case of robbery.

The suspect (43yrs) who hailed from Igbogi, Ilesha, Osun State said he was arrested by same Lagos State Task Force last year September, 2016 for snatching a ‘Samsung’ phone under Oshodi bridge and was prosecuted.
