No cause for alarm, Buhari is healthy – Saraki
President of Senate and Chairman National Assembly, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on Wednesday, assured Nigerians that President Mohammadu Buhari, is healthy, adding that there is no cause for alarm.
Saraki, who disclosed this in a statement said, “Myself, Rt Honorable Speaker Yakubu Dogara and leader of Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan paid a visit to President Buhari in Abuja House in London.
“We were delighted to see that President Buhari is doing well, was cheerful and in good spirits.
“The president I saw today is healthy, witty and himself.
“The presiden’ts absence and imminent return shows that there is no vacuum in government and our system of democracy is working with all organs of government fulfilling their mandate. And let me use the time tested cliché, there is no cause for alarm!
The National Assembly had sent a high power delegation to visit the President who is currently on an extended medical vacation in the United Kingdom.
The four-man delegation which was led by the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, includes the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, Deputy Speaker, Lasun Yusuf and Senate Leader, Senator Ahmed Lawan.
NEWSVERGE reports that President Buhari’s initial ten-day vacation meant to end on 6th February, 2017, was extended in a letter to the Senate on the eve of resumption that he will be staying back in London to complete some required tests.
Meanwhile, the President did not indicate when he would return to the country.
