Ortom gives 4 commissioners more workload
Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue on Wednesday increased the workload of four of his commissioners.
They will now oversee the affairs of the ministries whose commissioners were sacked on 14 February.
Newsverge gathered that the decision was arrived at during the State Executive Council meeting.
Ortom had on Feb.14 sacked four commissioners namely, Mr Nick Wende, Mr Odeh Ageh, Mrs Mwuese Mnyim and Mr Sekav Iortyom, who were in charge of Water Resources and Environment, Information and Orientation, Women Affairs and Social Development and Arts, Culture and Tourism.
Briefing newsmen after the meeting, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and ICT, Mr Tahav Agerzua, said that the Commissioner for Works, Transport and Energy, Mr Emmanuel Manger would supervise the Ministry of Water Resources and Environment.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr Lawrence Onoja would run the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism, while the Commissioner for Health, Dr Cecilia Ojabo has the added task of running the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
Agerzua said that the Commissioner for Housing, Mr Onoja Otokpa would oversee the affairs of the Ministry of Information and Orientation.
