Tight security as Ekiti PDP governorship primary commences

The National Coordinator of PDP loyal group 100% Mr. Dennis Shima has attributed low involvement of youths into politics to poor orientation about what politics really entails.

Shima who stated this on Friday in Jalingo at a reception in his honour at St. Peter’s Parish Nunkai Jalingo by the Catholic Youth Organisation of Nigeria (CYON) advised youth not to shy away from politics over the notion that it was a dirty game, but embrace it to contribute their quota to national development.

The coordinator said  politics was  rather one of the best ways to bring development to humanity if practiced according to the rules.

While challenging the youth to join politics with a view to channelling their youthful energy into enhancing political reforms that would deepen the country’s democracy for rapid development, Shima insisted that politics is not a  dirty game as they have been made to believe.

“Politics is not a dirty game, it is rather one of the best ways of solving human problems because it encourages dialogue, equity and fairness among members of the society.

“You cannot continue to hold such believe if you want things to be done right in this country, rise up, join hands, let us correct the wrongs together,” he said.

He commended Governor Darius Ishaku for carrying youth in the state along in his administration and urged them to support Ishaku’s rescue mission to enable him succeed in delivering on his campaign promises for the benefit of the people.

Earlier, Mr Nelson Gambo, the CYON  President commended Shima for always prioritizing the interest of youth and urged youth to shun social vices and support constituted authorities for a peaceful society.

In his comments, Rev Ephraim Kwanchi, the Taraba Chairman, Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), said youth participation would bring about vibrancy into politics for the good of the nation.

He also urged the youth to support the ongoing fight against insurgency and corruption so as to sanitize the country and pave way for meaningful development.
