Ahmed assures contractors prompt payment

Kwara Governor Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has assured contractors handling various road projects in the state of prompt payment.

He, however, said that the payment would be based on the new funding model by the kwara Infrastructure Development Fund,(IF-K).

The Governor gave the assurance on Wednesday while on an inspection of road projects in Offa and Ilemona in Offa and Oyun Local Government Areas of the state.

He commended contractors handling various ongoing infrastructure development projects across the state for diligent work.

According to him, the new funding model was a sustainable platform to encourage contractors fund projects and get paid every quarter.

Ahmed urged the contractors to be partners in the development of the state by being supportive of government’s
aspirations.

The governor promised the people of state government’s commitment to provide quality infrastructure across the three senatorial zones to improve the socio-economic development of the state.

Earlier, Commissioner for Works and Transport, Alhaji Aro Yahya, who conducted the governor round the projects, said that the contractors were doing quality jobs.

He assured the governor that all on-going road projects would be completed on schedule.
