Bindow urges development partners to execute relevant projects for local communities
Gov. Mohammed Bindow of Adamawa on Thursday, urged development partners to execute projects that would be beneficial to the local communities in the state.
Bindow gave the advice at the inauguration of a borehole donated by a U.S.- based Zumunta Association in Pallam community of Madagali Local Government Area of the state.
Represented by Mr Julius Kadala, Commissioner for Water Resources, the governor stressed the need to support communities with relevant projects to ensure that the goal of citing such projects was achieved.
Bindow also advised the partners to do proper consultations with stakeholders before carrying out projects, to determine the appropriateness and suitability of such projects.
While commending the association for its good intention, the governor also advised its members to ensure the return of the contractor to the site to complete the project.
Earlier, Mr Haniel Haziel, representative of the Zumunta Association, apologised for the inability of the borehole to pump water.
Haziel insisted that the borehole was producing water, adding that people were seen fetching water, shortly before the inauguration of the project.
He, however, gave assurance that the contractor would be mobilised to site to repair the borehole.
