Election: NYSC urges Police to protect Corps members, expresses fear over fake kits

Imo State Commissioner for Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources, Mr Udo Agoha, has recommended corps member Olawale Ademola for immediate employment after his service year.

Agoha made the recommendation while inaugurating the kennel (dog house) built by Ademola in the Imo Zoological Garden, in Owerri on Monday.

The commissioner said the State Government will always support the maintenance of the zoo adding that any attempt to encroach on its premises would not be accepted.

The Zoo Keeper, Mr Francis Abioye, said Ademola, who was posted to the zoo, built the kennel as part of his Community Development Projects.

The projects are a four in one ultra modern fish pond, a kennel and a bore hole.

Abioye appealed to the state government to ensure that facilities in the zoo and the environment were protected to ensure its continued existence.

He said pollution of the environment would deplete wildlife and harm humans and called for the protection of animals and natural resources in the zoo.

The corps member enjoined the community to make judicious use of the facilities by maintaining them, adding that the projects would add value to the zoo.

Ademola said the borehole would also complement the eight room ultra modern toilet built by a former corps member who served at the zoo.

State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, Mr James Olugbodi, represented by Mr Femi Oni, commended the corps member for the projects.

Olugbodi said community development projects of corps members were vital to the growth and progress of the host communities.

He commended Ademola for his efforts and urged other corps members to ensure they contributed to development of their host communities through community development projects.
