Katsina lawmaker allocates 33KVA transformer to his constituent to improve power supply
The Katsina State Government has donated a 33KVA transformer to Yamadawa Village in Daura Local Government Area as part of efforts to improve power supply in the area.
The transformer was presented by the lawmaker representing Daura Constituency in the Katsina State House of Assembly, Alhaji Nasir Yahaya on Monday.
According to Yahaya, the transformer is among the 34 donated by the state government to the state legislators to improve power supply in their constituencies.
“Katsina Government recently donated 34 transformers through the 34 members of the state assembly to install them in places of need in their constituencies.
“After due consultations, l decided to install the one allocated to me to Yamadawa community to improve the epileptic power supply in the area.
“I want to commend the efforts of the state government in complementing our efforts on constituency projects. We will continue to maintain harmonious working relationship with the executive,’’ he said.
Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Director Personnel of the Council who received the transformer on behalf of the Sole Administrator, Alhaji Lawal Kado commended the lawmaker for presenting the transformer to Yamadawa.
He said that Yamadawa had been witnessing epileptic power supply due to lack of transformer for long.
Responding, Abubakar Yakizau, the Spokesperson of Yamadawa community commended the state government and the lawmaker for considering their community.
He said that people of the community would continue to support government programmes by being law abiding.
