Easter: Police commend Niger residents over peaceful conduct
The Niger Police Command on Tuesday commended residents of the state for their peaceful conduct during the last Easter festivities.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Bala Elkalla, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said this in Minna in an interview with our reporter.
Elkalla said the commendation was “appropriate” as there was no crime or violence recorded throughout the state during the festive period.
He said this was made possible by the cooperation the police received from residents of the state.
He assured that the police would continue to initiate various forms of security measures to sustain the peaceful nature the state was known for.
The Niger police spokesman called on the residents to always offer the command intelligence reports about movements of suspicious characters in their midst.
He also commended officers and men of the command for demonstrating high sense of professionalism and urged them to sustain the tempo in providing peaceful environment for the people for the state.
