NAF commences medical assistance to Makurdi flood victims

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Tuesday said it would continue to protect the territorial integrity of the country.

The Chairman of the Organising Committee of the 53rd NAF Anniversary Celebration, AVM Isiaka Amao, made the statement while briefing journalists at the NAF Headquarters, Abuja.

The anniversary celebration is scheduled to hold from April 20 to April 22, in Makurdi, Benue.

He said the celebration offered the service another opportunity to take stock in the light of its statutory responsibilities as a military service.

“Given the active role played by NAF in combating both real and perceived challenges facing the nation, NAF has performed beyond expectations.

“It is no gain saying that the priority of NAF lies in the consolidation of the gains of air power employment, especially at this crucial stage in the history of the country.

“It is for this reason that the theme “Employment of Air Power for Enduring National Security ” was adopted for this year’s celebration,” he said.

Activities lined up to mark this year’s celebration include: Medical outreach, Air Weapons Meet, Ceremonial Parade, Winning of New Pilots and Induction of Newly-Acquired Mi-35M attack helicopters.

The chairman said the medical outreach would be conducted throughout the period of the celebration for people living within the immediate host communities around NAF bases.
