Continuous Voters Registration : INEC trained 105 staff in Adamawa

INEC inaugurates committee to monitor parties’ campaign spending

Ahead of the nationwide continuous Voters Registration exercise, the Adamawa office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced training of 105 staff.

Declaring the training open in Yola on Monday, Mr Salihu Ya’u, the State Administrative Secretary of the commission, said that the the exercise was to re-equip the staff for the task ahead.

Ya’u , who is the state Acting Resident Electoral Commissioner, said that the training was specifically for the staff from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state expected to conduct the continuous voters registration.

“Continuous Voters Registration is so vital to the electoral process; its success or otherwise determine to a large extend the credibility of any election, ” Ya’u said.

He said that five staff were selected from each local government area, and urged them to pay attention and contribute meaningfully during the session.
