Botlek Tank, Vesta, Rubis Terminals to present modernisation plans at 5th oil conference
The Terminal Management of logistics for Traders, Botlek Tank Terminal (BTT), Vesta Terminals, Rubis Terminal has announced its 5th annual programme.
The programme will feature the onsite visits to Botlek Tank Terminal, Odfjell Terminal Rotterdam, Vopak Rotterdam, Oiltanking Terneuzen, and Zenith Energy Amsterdam Terminal, as well as the detailed insights on terminals’ modernisation plans.
A statement by the organisers of the oil and gas conference, Vostock Capital, explained that decision makers from key ARA terminals will discuss their modernisation strategiesat.
The 5th annual Oil Terminal Management: Logistics for Traders Programme will hold on 7-9 June, 2017.
In 2016, Botlek Tank Terminal (BTT) significantly expanded its capacity in the port of Rotterdam – from 200,000 to 467,000 cubic metres. Following construction, which starts in May 2016, the local subsidiary of storage and handling firm HES gained fourteen storage tanks and three new quays for inland vessels.
With 34 storage tanks for mineral oils, biodiesel and edible oils, BTT’s existing terminal is a so-called ‘zero emissions terminal’. It is also one of the most environmentally-friendly tank terminals in the world. BTT ultimately intends to expand its storage capacity in Rotterdam to roughly 750,000 cubic metres.

RubisBotlek Terminal 2 Construction: Expansion Rubis Terminal (RT2). The first phase of construction completed in January 2017 and in the coming year there will Phase 2 be started. The terminal will increase its capacity from the current 197 000 m3 to 311 000 m3.
Port La Nouvelle expansion: Port authorities have planned a deep sea port expansion to accommodate larger ocean-going-vessels up to 14.50m draft (dredging at minus 16 m), corresponding to ships of about 80,000 dwt for dry bulk, even more for liquid bulk.
