NIRA awards NBS Public Sector Star Website award
The Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) has awarded the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) with the Public Sector Star Website award for 2016 and 2017.
The NBS stated this in a statement signed by the Statistician-General and the Chief Executive Officer of bureau, Dr Yemi Kale on Wednesday in Abuja.
NiRA is the registry for.ng internet domain names which maintains the database of names registered in the country‘s internet code top level domain name space and global internet community.
Quoting the organisers of the award, Kale said that the award was purely meant to celebrate excellence was a value for those who worked for it.
“The Public Sector Star Website Award was among 20 categories of other awards given by NiRA.
“Other public institutions nominated by NiRA for the Public Sector Star Website Award category include: Federal Inland Revenue Service; Joint Admission and Matriculation Board and Nigeria Custom Service.
“Nigerian Communications Commission and West African Examination Council were also nominated,’’ he said.
The statistician-general thanked the organisers of the award for selecting the winners of the various award categories in a transparent manner.
He also thanked and the public who voluntarily voted for NBS to win the award.
