Amaechi delivers first CKN News annual lecture in Lagos
The Minister of Transportation, Honorable Chibuike Amaechi has been selected to deliver the first Annual Lecture of Nigeria’s foremost Blog CKN News.
This was announced in a Press Statement pushed out by the online portal. According to the release personally signed by the Publisher/Editor In Chief of CKN News Chris Kehinde Nwandu (CKN), the event will in a class of it’s own.
The organizers said, Amaechi was chosen to deliver the inaugural lecture based on his vast experience as a Legislator, former Chief Executive of one of Nigeria’s most viable States, as a former Student/youth leader, an astute mobilizer, a successful manager of men and resources , a world acclaimed personality and politician, a rare attribute not found in many Nigerians.
He will be speaking on the topic: The Role of Social Media in the Socio-Economic and Political Development of Nigeria.
The CKN News Annual Lecture will hold on Tuesday 13th June 2017 in Lagos.
The event will be attended by Nigerians and foreigners from all walks of life.
Already arrangement is in top gear to make the event a success. Chris Kehinde Nwandu who is also the President of Guild Of Professional Bloggers in Nigeria (GPBN) said this will be the first time any Nigerian blogger will put up such an interactive intellectual based event.
To him, the act of Blogging as a means of information dissimilation has gone beyond being mere gossip platforms.
It has over the years revolved into a viable tool for information management, shaping opinions and spreading news with the speed of lightning.
Act of blogging has become real business with followers running into millions across the globe. There is the need, therefore, to reposition the platforms in tune with best global practice and set ethical standard and behaviours for it’s practitioners which was the aim of setting up the Guild Of Professional Bloggers Of Nigeria (GPBN) in the first place he said.
CKN News was established in 2009 to give Nigeria’s at home and in diaspora an undiluted first-hand information on happenings within and outside the Nigerian. It’s contents are 90% Nigerian News
It started as an interactive platform on Facebook, twitter, blackberry and later as a fully-fledged news portal.
CKN News, over the years, realised that the future of information dissemination will be wholly depended online via social media platforms.
It also realised that social media will become the greatest form of mass mobilisation and expression of ideas.
In its over eight years of existence; the media outfit has won over twenty local and international awards.
The organisers said the names of the Chairman, Special Guests Of Honour, Keynote Speaker and Chief Host for the event and other partners will be unveiled in the next few days.
