Airtel unveils Unlimited Data Plans to boost internet connectivity

Airtel Nigeria is set to sponsor the digital journalism training tagged ‘The Journalism Clinic’ for the second time. The training is facilitated by the widely-travelled and globally acclaimed digital journalism trainer, Dan Mason.

About 100 journalists will be trained this year, as was the case in 2015. However, data journalism will be added to the previous multimedia storytelling courses.

According to Founder/Director of The Journalism Clinic, Taiwo Obe: “We decided that it would be more beneficial to add data journalism training to the curriculum this time as it has become important for journalists to be able to apply digital tools to break down the increasing deluge of data particularly from governments.”

The plan, according to him, is to train 50 multimedia storytellers and 50 data journalists in two Nigerian cities of Lagos and Kaduna.

Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria, Mr Segun Ogunsanya, who spoke on the company’s rationale for the sponsorship noted that the firm believes in human capital development.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring this training, for the second time, because we strongly believe that the more equipped our journalists are, the better for our society.” He  stated. Dates and locations as well as enrolment criteria will be made available by the organisers in due course.
